Notes on the performers Paul SawtellPaul is one of the finest jazz pianists in the country and routinely plays with top soloists.  Some of the more well-known names he has worked with include: Shirley Bassey, Neil Sedaka, Sir Cliff Richard, The Syd Lawrence Orchestra, The BBC Radio Big Band, Alan Barnes, Gilad Atzmon, Strictly Come Dancing and many more… On this CD he also doubles superbly on vibraphone - his musicianship is truly world class.  Dave Green A bass legend! Dave turned professional in 1963 and since then has worked with most of the great jazz performers in the world - Ben Webster, Coleman Hawkins, Zoot Sims, Al Cohn, Ruby Braff, Billy Butterfield, Yank Lawson, Pee Wee Russell, Kenny Davern, Peter King, Benny Carter, Sonny Rollins, Buck Clayton, Capt. John Handy, Barry Harris, Bob Wilber, Roland Kirk, Brian Lemon, Sweets Edison, Martin Taylor, Ken Peplowski, Warren Vache to name a few!.  He is undoubtedly the UK’s  no.1 bass player. In between touring with Charlie Watts (Rolling Stones) he performs regularily with Scott Hamilton.  Sticky Wicket Alan ‘Sticky’ Wicket is well known in the jazz world from his time as a member of the Chris Barber Jazz & Blues Band, regularly seen touring in Germany, Holland, Scandinavia and Switzerland. Coming from both a jazz and rock background Sticky has consistently worked with top artistes such as Van Morrison, Jools Holland, Bryan Ferry, Ronnie Wood (Rolling Stones), Brian May (Queen),  Steve Gibbons and Lonnie Donegan. He has appeared on TV (Top of the Pops, Old Grey Whistle Test), radio (Radio 2, Jazz FM, Smooth) and has graced some of the largest  venues around the world. He now leads his own superb 1940’s style swing band.
